The latest iOS update improves the battery life of your iPhone

The good news for iPhone users is that iOS 16.3 would increase the battery life of most iPhones. However, Apple has not officially communicated anything about this gain in autonomy.

With each iPhone update, new benchmark tests pop up on the web. The latest concerns the autonomy of the iPhone under the new version of iOS 16.3. For the most distracted, it is advisable to update your smartphone quickly. In addition to bringing fixes, you will also enjoy better autonomy.

The YouTube channel iAppleBytes compared this new version of iOS with the previous one in terms of battery. In terms of results, we learn that the iPhone 13 seems to be gaining serious points, with a score of more than 5,400 on Geekbench 4 against 4,990 on iOS 16.2. For its part, the iPhone 12 also gains almost five hundred points. All types of iPhones tested are more efficient with iOS 16.3: this is the case with the iPhone 11, the iPhone XR, and the second-generation iPhone SE. The only one that does not benefit from an increase in autonomy is the iPhone 8. It goes from 1,695 points to 1,677 points from one version to another.

iOS 16.3 does not limit autonomy

iAppleBytes announces unexpected superior results. This is the best performance obtained by iPhones since the major update, iOS 16. Thanks to this video and this study, it is possible to draw the following conclusion: iOS 16.3 does not limit the autonomy of the iPhone battery.

As often, these figures must be put into perspective, because we do not always know the state of the freshness of the various devices tested. However, this gives an idea of the direction taken by Apple. And, in our view, it is heading in the right direction.
