The memory of the GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card can only stop at 28GB

Recent leaks suggest that Nvidia’s upcoming GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card may feature 28GB of memory instead of the initially predicted 32 GB. This is a departure from the expected 512-bit memory bus power of the Nvidia GB202 silicon chip. It’s rumored that Nvidia opted not to utilize the full memory capacity of the GB202 chip based on the Blackwell architecture, possibly to create room for higher-end versions such as the RTX 5090 Ti, RTX 5090 Super, or even the Titan series.

Despite the potential downgrade in memory, the RTX 5090 is anticipated to outperform its predecessor, the RTX 4090, with an expected memory bandwidth of up to 1568 GB/s, representing a 50% increase compared to the RTX 4090. If higher-end versions are indeed in the works, they could feature 32GB GDDR7 memory, a 512-bit memory bus, and a larger number of CUDA cores, promising a significant boost in graphics processing power.

It’s important to note that these details are based on rumors and have not been officially confirmed by Nvidia. The exact specifications of the GeForce RTX 5090 and any potential high-end variants are yet to be officially announced.
