The old Galaxy device series is about to be equipped with Galaxy AI

Samsung recently announced that it will be expanding its AI features to older Galaxy smartphones and tablets through the One UI 6.1 update, which is scheduled to be released in early May. Initially, these features were designed for high-end models like the Galaxy S24 series, but Samsung has now decided to make them available to the entire Galaxy S22 series, along with other top smartphone lines of 2022 and 2021.

However, it’s important to note that the One UI 6.1 update is exclusively for flagship devices, meaning that lower models like the Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy Tab S8 FE will not receive the update. Additionally, not all Galaxy AI features will be available for these devices. The top Galaxy smartphones of 2022 and 2021 will receive the “Galaxy S23 FE AI” level, which does not include all the features present in higher-end models.

The Galaxy S23 FE AI level includes Instant Slow-Mo, which allows users to turn any video in their library into slow motion. On the other hand, the leading Galaxy smartphones of 2021 are expected to have only two Galaxy AI features, including Circle to Search and Magic Rewrite.

The One UI 6.1 update for 2021 and 2022 Galaxy smartphones and tablets is expected to be released in early May, though it may first be available for Korean users, with users in other countries having to wait a bit longer. It’s great to see Samsung extending its AI features to older devices, providing a more immersive and intuitive experience to users.
