The reason Xiaomi phones show annoying ads

Xiaomi phones come with default ads in the operating system, and disabling them can be quite tedious. These ads are particularly prevalent on mid-range and budget Xiaomi phones. Despite the cost advantage and offered features, users often encounter intrusive ads that cover the entire screen. These ads are embedded deep within the operating system, making it challenging for users to disable them without overcoming technical barriers. While there were rumors of Xiaomi integrating a switch to turn off system ads directly on the interface, the company has confirmed that this feature will not be available on the MIUI interface, disappointing many users.

Although a Xiaomi representative mentioned plans to enhance user experience by reducing ads and pre-installed applications at the factory, the company stated that they won’t be adding a dedicated switch to turn off display ads. Instead, they aim to improve the overall user experience for all users. Commenting on this decision, Android Authority suggested that a toggle switch to manage all system ads would be a more user-friendly solution than the current process. Presently, users have to locate the “MSA” application in the Settings section and individually disable display permissions for each application to turn off the ads.
