Game developer Arkane has confirmed the PlayStation 5 version of Redfall is now back in development.
According to Neowin, as Redfall is getting ready to launch in the next few weeks, Arkane’s creative director Harvey Smith admitted in an interview that there’s a version of the game in development for the PlayStation 5 (PS5) by Sony.
According to IGN, previously in 2021, when Arkane’s parent company ZeniMax Media closed and was acquired by Microsoft, the PS5 version of Redfall was quickly canceled. The move comes as a way for the company’s team to fully focus on the Xbox, PC, and Game Pass platforms. It can be seen that the removal of the PS5 version has brought a big advantage to Xbox.
When Microsoft bought ZeniMax, it said it would reevaluate whether to bring upcoming games to Sony’s consoles. While games like Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo are still available on PS5, other games like Hi-Fi Rush, Redfall, and other ZeniMax games like Starfield will only be available on Microsoft’s PC and Xbox consoles.
games This new information once again brings attention to Microsoft’s promise to Sony that it will offer Activision’s Call of Duty on PS5 for 10 years if it is allowed to buy Activision Blizzard for $ 69 billion. Sony does not believe and even thinks that Microsoft may ‘ban’ any Call of Duty games on PlayStation in the future so that people can only use the Xbox version.
Redfall will be released on May 2 for PC and Xbox Series X/S
