TikTok is about to launch the visual social network TikTok Notes

TikTok, the popular short-form video app, is expanding its horizons by venturing into the photo-sharing market in an attempt to compete with Instagram. According to Gizmodo, the Chinese-originated app is currently experimenting with a new photo-sharing feature called ‘TikTok Notes’. This feature aims to directly take on Instagram, which currently dominates the social media visual market.

TikTok Notes is a dedicated app for photo posts, and it automatically syncs photos shared on TikTok. Users can choose to disable this automatic syncing feature if they prefer. However, there is some controversy around its name as the term ‘Notes’ is usually associated with text-based posts, which doesn’t seem to befit a photo-sharing app.

To add to the confusion, Instagram also has a feature called Instagram Notes, which are short posts displayed in the app’s messages section. The overlapping of the names can confuse users and make it difficult for them to differentiate between the two applications.

Though TikTok has confirmed the existence of Notes, there has been no official launch yet, and there are no further details available at this time. Whether TikTok Notes will be able to attract users and compete with other photo-sharing applications such as Instagram will depend on several factors, including its creative features and ability to stand out from the competition.
