US adds more Chinese companies to the blacklist

The US government will add a series of companies Chinese to the Commerce Department’s blacklist, accused of supporting the Chinese military’s quantum computing efforts.

The ban is part of a trade war between the US and China that began in 2019 when the US Department of Commerce placed Huawei and 70 of its affiliates on the Entity List, barring anyone on the list from buying the kit. parts and components from US companies without government approval. The report from Reuters says the Commerce Department has also added a number of entities and individuals from China and Pakistan for contributing to Pakistan’s nuclear activities and ballistic missile program. In addition to China and Pakistan, a total of 27 new entities have also been added to the blacklist from Japan and Singapore .

Chinese companies currently on the blacklist include Hangzhou Zhongke Microelectronics Co Ltd, Hunan Goke Microelectronics, New H3C Semiconductor Technologies Co Ltd, Xi’an Aerospace Huaxun Technology and Yunchip Microelectronics among others for their state-of-the-art support chemical military of the Chinese military. The list also includes the Hefei National Laboratory for Physical Sciences at Microscale, QuantumCTek and Shanghai QuantumCTeck Co Ltd.
