WhatsApp allows to save messages

WhatsApp has just introduced an option called Keep in Chat, which is intended to allow users to save messages that disappear in a self-destructing message conversation.

According to Engadget users, WhatsApp can long-press a message so that it’s in a retained thread. However, the person who sent the message is notified and they will ultimately decide whether to allow the message to be kept in the chat. Otherwise, the message will disappear as usual.

Additionally, a bookmark icon will appear next to the saved message. Users can access all saved messages in the Kept Messages folder, where they are organized by conversation. WhatsApp says it is rolling out the feature gradually, and that everyone will have access within the next few weeks.

Based on the description, it seems that Keep in Chat will make the role of disappearing messages meaningless, but in a company blog post, WhatsApp said that sometimes users need to save a message ( such as voice notes or someone’s address) including important details
