At the head of Microsoft Windows Insider, Amanda Langowski comments on this visual evolution in a blog post. “Several changes, such as the orientation of the folder icons and the default file type icons, have been made for greater consistency across Microsoft products that display files,” she says. This development “should make them a little easier to distinguish at a glance,” said the manager.
