Windows 11 22H2 is to be released on September 20

Although it was first revealed in May, Windows 11 users may have to wait until September 20 to receive the Sun Valley 2 update from Microsoft.

According to Neowin, in May, Microsoft confirmed through a blog post that Build 22621 is the RTM candidate of Windows 11 22H2 (codename Sun Valley 2 or SV2). The company also released some additional details suggesting an updated rollout date for this Although no specific date is specified, this time is predicted to take place after September 5.

Now, multiple reports say Microsoft will be rolling out Windows 11 22H2 on September 20, and it will likely be made available via the Windows Update option in the Settings app. For users who are using Windows 11 21H2, this is a seamless upgrade as the system requirements have not changed.

Notable features that will come to Windows 11 22H2 are expected to include the application folder in the Start menu; a resizable pinned area in the Start menu; the ability to drag/drop on the Taskbar; integration of Focus Assist with Notification Center; new Focus wallpapers; new Voice Access and Live Captions; new gestures and animations for touch devices; new Snap layout bar when moving application windows; new Task Manager application; suggested actions when copying dates/numbers; tabs in File Explorer; better OneDrive integration with File Explorer; as well as numerous user interface improvements and constant updates.
