Windows Copilot will support third-party AI plugins, just like ChatGPT and Bing Chat

Microsoft allegedly issued a form to Windows Copilot beta testers, according to Windows Latest. The Redmond company is interested in seeing how valuable engineers are to “third-party AI plugins.”

The public should soon be able to use Windows Copilot, which is now in the testing stage. Microsoft wants to know the developers’ opinions on potential third-party plugins that can be used directly in the operating system, but not before. Therefore, the business issued developers a survey titled “Windows Copilot Plugins: Your Account Opinion” to see if they would use or create such extensions.

Copilot’s goal, according to Windows Latest, is to standardize the usage of AI throughout Windows 11 “by remaining consistent in all applications, programs, and windows.” With Windows Copilot, novice users won’t have to go through the system settings in order to access a configuration or modification—all they have to do is ask the AI that is available from the OS taskbar. The addition of plugins to Windows Copilot will let users access external resources.

Windows Copilot to integrate ChatGPT and Bing plugins

People will be able to ask their computer to carry out difficult tasks like ordering an airline ticket or, for programmers, creating a piece of Python code to gather the information of a web page, thanks to the Bing and ChatGPT extensions. Similar to ChatGPT, the inbuilt generative AI in Windows 11 will be able to construct or summarise the sentences we provide it, as well as produce visuals from a written description.

As you can see, Windows Copilot has a tonne of potential and may possibly render browsers obsolete in the future. Given how quickly Microsoft updates its operating system, it’s very feasible that we’ll get to experience this oddity in the near future.
