The App Store now tells users how long it will take to download an app once it begins thanks to a small but interesting change made by Apple in iOS 17.
With iOS 17, the remaining download time is shown next to the “Get” button when you tap it to begin downloading an app. The time is shown in minutes and seconds. The remaining time is not displayed if the installation is anticipated to take only a few seconds.
Users could only see how long it would take once the download had begun and the connection to the “App Store” server had been established because the time it takes to download a specific app will obviously depend on the user’s internet speed and the size of the app’s file.
However, compared to the previous circular download symbol, this innovation gives users a more accurate idea of the length of a download. If the user decides the remaining time is too long, they can choose to stop the download by tapping the Cancel button inside the circular icon.
With changes aimed at offensive advertisements, apps that impersonate others, and Safari extensions, Apple has also improved its guidelines for reviewing the App Store and other developer-related documents.
Apple recently informed developers via email that the App Store Review Guidelines, pp Store Review Guidelines, the Apple Developer Program License Agreement, and the Apple Developer Agreement have all been updated. “Support current policies, provide clarification, and support upcoming features” are the goals of the changes. ”.

The prohibition on apps that impersonate other apps or services is a supplement to 4.1. The updated 4.4 list explains that applications that host or contain extensions must adhere to the App Extension Programming Guide, Safari App Extensions Help, or Safari web extension documentation. They must also have some components, like help screens and “when possible” settings interfaces.
For 4.4.2, the line has been revised to say that Safari extensions must be performed on the “current version of Safari on the relevant Apple operating system”
