The recent announcement from Xiaomi showcases its newest line of cutting-edge folding-screen smartphones. The lineup includes an updated version of the original clamshell MIX Fold and MIX Flip series.
The Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 features a book-shaped folding screen design, designed to compete with the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Honor Magic V3. The device brings several improvements over its predecessor, including a refined rear camera module, a fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button, and a high-strength hinge with enhanced rigidity and durability. The MIX Fold 4 also adopts a “full carbon architecture” design, uses OLED panels with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and incorporates a cluster of four Leica-branded rear cameras. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, the phone boasts up to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB internal storage, along with a 5,100 mAh battery supporting fast charging.
On the other hand, Xiaomi’s first clamshell-style folding smartphone, the MIX Flip, stands out with a unique design and a large external screen. Weighing only 192 grams, the MIX Flip is equipped with a 4.01-inch external screen and a 6.5-inch internal display. It also features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and a 4,780 mAh battery supporting 67W fast charging.
