Apple just announced a new gold color for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus series, but there are no new colors for the higher-end iPhone 14 Pro series.
According to 9to5mac, the yellow version has been available to order from this Friday, and the first machines will reach customers on March 14. Apple has also refreshed its accessory line to make it easy for users to complement their iPhones with a new themed iPhone case.
The new iPhone 14 color version will have gold aluminum edges, and a gold glass back. The new color will be added to the collection of commercially available colors including midnight black, PRODUCT(RED), blue and purple.
In addition to the color, the new color version configuration remains unchanged. The iPhone 14 uses a 6.1-inch OLED screen and the 14 Plus is 6.7-inch. This generation of iPhones is equipped with the A15 chip, which was first introduced on the iPhone 13 Pro. New features include an Action mode for video recording and the addition of a Cinema mode with a bokeh for videos.
iPhone 14 also features Emergency Satellite SOS, allowing users to contact emergency services even when outside of Wi-Fi and cellular coverage. Emergency Satellite SOS is currently free for two years, and Apple has yet to announce an official price for the service.
Satellite SOS is currently only available in the US, Canada, France, Germany, the UK, and Ireland. In addition to the yellow iPhone 14, Apple has announced satellite connectivity features that will launch in Austria, Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Portugal by the end of March.
