The world’s fiercest racetrack will be recreated in EA Sports WRC, released in November this year.
According to VGC, Electronic Arts (EA) said it will announce its first World Rally Championship (WRC) racing game next week. Specifically, the company shared on platform X a post with the content “Join us on September 5 for the full reveal of EA Sports WRC “.
The announcement was made after recently leaked news about EA’s new racing game appeared on the Internet. Accordingly, a famous leaker in the industry named Billbil-kun has announced that EA Sports WRC will be released on November 3, 2023, with an early access opening 3 days in advance for those who have pre-ordered the version—champions of the game.
In 2020, the developer Codemasters was granted a license for the WRC, with an agreement agreeing to release the WRC game annually for a period of 5 years, starting in 2023. One year later, Codemasters was purchased by EA. EA and the WRC license agreement went to the game company.
It was reported that EA Sports WRC was initially scheduled to release in July 2023 but was later delayed to the end of the year.
The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with two versions including Standard and Champions. Buyers will receive the base game and five seasons’ worth of game expansions for Champions.
EA Play subscribers will reportedly also get a 10-hour trial period, as well as the same 3-day early access period as Champions Edition players.
