According to VGC, according to analysts, based on Take-Two’s latest profit guidance, the game Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) will likely not be released before April 2025.

On Thursday, February 8, Take-Two, owner of developer Rockstar, revised its profit guidance for the next fiscal year (FY25), which runs from April 2024 to March 2025.

Nick McKay and Michael Pachter, analysts at Wedbush Securities, said that the game most likely missed its release window previously expected in early 2025. In a research report titled ‘$7 Billion Means No GTA in FY25’, the analysts wrote: “We can only speculate that GTA 6 has slipped away beyond FY25, consistent with our previous expectations.”

Both added: “Management said revenue for next year will be just over $7 billion, much lower than the initial figure in May of $8 billion and the first revision of nearly $8 billion.” billion USD in November. This decrease makes us almost certain that GTA 6 will not be released in the next fiscal year.”

However, analysts also said there is no reason to believe that the game will not released in 2025 and could launch later in the year.

Rockstar released the first official trailer for the game in December, gaining over 90 million views in just 24 hours. In addition to a 2025 release date for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, the trailer also confirms that the game will take place partly in Vice City (a fantasy setting based on Miami) and feature two main characters, including the first female character appearing in the game series.

Take-Two also said GTA 5 has shipped more than 195 million copies since its release in 2013. The entire GTA franchise has sold more than 420 million copies since its launch in 1997.

Although this is not an official announcement from Rockstar, information from analysts may make many GTA fans a bit disappointed when they have to wait longer than expected.
