Apple is been force by Chinese Government to store their user data in china

Apple was compelled by the Chinese authorities to retailer more user data in China. Before Apple, US companies like Tesla and LinkedIn confronted similar pressures.

According to a report from The Information , Apple appears to be in a “dilemma”. In the event that they follow the orders of the Chinese authorities, the “apple house” will face criticism from US lawmakers. Alternatively, if Apple doesn’t comply, China will punish Apple by making it tough for the company’s operations in the world’s most populous market .

The Personal Data Protection Law, which took impact on November 1, requires foreign companies to store data in China, and prohibits transferring it across borders. The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) is tasked with imposing this law.

“Enforcement might be more extensive and harsher, because there is a CAC in the lead,” stated Nicolas Bahmanyar, senior data privacy adviser on the Chinese law firm Leaf Legal.

According to 9to5mac , Apple was under related stress in 2018, when the company accepted to place clients’ iCloud data to servers located in China.

However new data protection laws will pressure Apple to store sensitive types of information in China , like iPhone usage statistics, connection and communication logs of the device. This data can be used to trace the location of every iPhone user and understand how they use the device.
