AirTag 2 could be released in 2024

AirTag 2 can be equipped with an Ultra Wideband U2 chip and become part of Apple’s space computing ecosystem.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple distributors will begin the generation of AirTag mass production of the next from the fourth quarter of 2024. More than 3 years ago, the first AirTag was introduced to the market, the listed price was $29.

Kuo revealed that the new AirTag model will be compatible with the Vision Pro glasses recently introduced by Apple, integrated as part of the company’s space computing ecosystem. However, the expert did not provide details about the new device or the features that will appear on Apple’s positioning product line.

AirTag currently on the market is equipped with a U1 chip manufactured by Apple itself, supporting the ability to accurately locate the location where this device is located. Expert Ming-Chi Kuo once revealed that the iPhone 15 series also upgraded the Ultra Wideband chip (ultra-wideband), a step that made experts think that Apple will upgrade the chip to the U2 generation on both the new iPhone and AirTag.

There is more than a year left until the second generation AirTag enters the “mass production” process, so detailed product leaks may continue to appear in the near future.
