Duolingo will soon teach you music too

Duolingo has probably come up in conversation before, even if you don’t use it. With its 500 million users, the language learning application now seems to want to start a new adventure. the TechCrunch site has spotted two job offers from the company.

The first, already closed, is for an independent consultant in musical composition and study programs. As for the second, Duolingo is looking for an “expert in music education who combines both theoretical knowledge of relevant research in the science of learning and practical teaching experience” .

It was evidently sufficient for the theories to come together. The idea that Duolingo would create a program to instruct in the fundamentals of music is the most compelling. Given the company’s long-standing efforts to diversify its business operations, this would not be unexpected. The most recent example is Duolingo Math, which was introduced in October 2022. For what it’s worth, this diversification is effective. The group’s turnover increased along with its subscriber base, which doubled in 2022. Focus on the fundamentals rather than specialized skills for success that can be explained by a straightforward recipe. It is unknown what plans the application has for its musical rendition.
