Instagram begins editing sent messages

Instagram now allows all users to edit sent private messages.

According to TechNewsSpace users, Meta has just announced that Instagram can now edit the content of conversations in private messages within 15 minutes of sending. Previously, the only way to correct errors in messages was to completely delete and resend a new message

To edit a private message, users simply touch and hold on to the message until a drop-down menu appears, then select the ‘Edit’ option. Edited messages in the conversation will be marked ‘Edited’. If you do not want this edited indicator to appear, users still have to recall the sent message and rewrite new content.

The message editing feature in Facebook Messenger was introduced a few months ago. Although cross-platform messaging has not been supported since December, Meta continues to provide some common functionality across apps.

Instagram users can now turn read receipts on or off, pin individual or group chats to their inbox, reply with stickers, send animated GIFs, videos, photos, and voice messages
