Microsoft has recently launched a new and more efficient way of installing Windows Store applications, offering a simpler and more convenient solution for users. Previously, installing Windows Store apps from the web was a complex process, involving several steps. However, Microsoft’s new ‘separate’ version of the Windows Store simplifies the process by allowing users to install apps with just one click, similar to installing regular executable files.
This new installation method also benefits software developers, as it provides an alternative way to distribute their applications without relying entirely on the Windows Store. Microsoft tested the new installation method for five months and found that it helped increase application installations by 12% and the number of applications launched by 54%, providing positive results for both users and developers.
Currently, not all Windows Store apps support this new installation method, but Microsoft plans to expand the range of compatible applications soon. This development could also open up new opportunities for developers to distribute their software without depending entirely on the native Windows Store.
