Over 3 million copies of Resident Evil 4 sold in just 2 days

Capcom says the remake of Resident Evil 4 has sold extremely well.

According to Insider-Gaming, Capcom has revealed that the remake of Resident Evil 4 has sold a whopping 3 million copies in just 2 days, which has made it the second best-selling Resident Evil title of all time.

The remake of Resident Evil 4 is flawless, that’s a claim reflected in hundreds of reviews that have been given out across the board. It’s also a view echoed by the community – currently, 97% of the 23,300 Steam reviews for Resident Evil 4 are considered positive

The record for sales of the Resident Evil franchise is currently held by Resident Evil 6, according to a similar report published in 2012 after the game’s launch, Capcom confirmed that they sold 4.5 million copies in a two-day period.

Now that Resident Evil 4 is currently boasting in second place, not only that, it’s also the best-selling remake released. Historically, Resident Evil 2 has sold 3 million copies in a week, and the remake of Resident Evil 3 has only achieved 4 million copies in 18 months.

Additionally, data miners have discovered documents about the Separate Ways expansion in the game’s files, which will be an expansion that reveals Ada Wong’s backstory.

Not only that, but in April, The Mercenaries expansion will once again be available for free to eager fans around the world. It will bring a bunch of iconic Resident Evil characters back to players
