PlayStation Network will link with Discord

Sony recently announced a partnership with Discord to bring the service to its PlayStation Network systems.

According to Neowin, Sony Interactive Entertainment is partnered with Discord, a popular media gaming platform with more than 140 million monthly users. In a statement, Sony President and CEO Jim Ryan announced that the service will join the PlayStation Network in early 2022.

Jim Ryan said on the Sony blog, “Our team is working hard to connect Discord to your PlayStation Network games and social experiences. Our goal is to bring the Discord and PlayStation experiences to consoles and mobile devices by early next year.

In addition to the current Discord integration on Xbox, which allows you to simply connect and share what users are playing, Sony intends to bring various Discord features to its own group service. for communication between platforms. Talking about the Xbox, although it isn’t confirmed, it was reported that Discord turned down a buy-back offer from Microsoft last month.

Jim Ryan added: “To bring our player experience, Sony Interactive Entertainment made a small investment as part of Discord’s Series H round.”
