Sony Patent Suggests There Will Be A PS5 Coating

Sony has been granted a patent that allows it to make external cladding for the PlayStation 5.

According to VCG, the patent found by Opattack, submitted in November 2020 and was given on November 16, 2021, has a fairly simple detail under the title of the title for electronic devices, but the diagram provided indicates that this is the outer constance of PS5.

Because the patent is described as “decorative design for a sheath for electronic devices,” it is not clear whether it refers to the replacement of cladding or only the skin that can be covered with existing outer conginkong. However, it shows Sony’s potential plan to offer PS5TRIZ options.

This news can affect the company that supply decorative cladding for PS5. The most affected might be the Canadian Peripheral company DBrand, which has been involved in long-term disputes with Sony over the exterior ps5 exterior cladding.

This step suggests Sony has long prepared PS5 decorative products, and requests to stop supplying DarkPlate and litigation with DBrand only at first worrying rivals for the launch of its products.
