Macs that will be released by Apple this year

Besides the newly announced MacBook Pro 2023 and Mac mini duo, the Cupertino (USA) company is also planning a number of other Mac models for the rest of 2023.

Apple surprised the tech world by announcing only a handful of Macs to the market last year, but that all changes this year as the company kicked off the year with three different Mac models. Not stopping there, many other products are also waiting to appear in the period from now to the end of the year, from powerful desktop models to thin and light laptops.

Mac Pro

While most Macs have at least one type of chip from Apple, one device that hasn’t made this transition is the Mac Pro. Perhaps Apple needs more time to perfect a chip that can meet the needs of professional users. Now, it looks like the company is almost ready to unveil its high-end computing machine.

Even so, the Mac Pro development process is still not smooth. First, the super-powerful chip that Apple is developing for the Mac Pro, the M2 Extreme – seems to have been scrapped when Apple switched to the inferior M2 Ultra. Then it was reported that the next Mac Pro would neither have a new design nor a non-upgradable memory.

Those are pretty disappointing news, so it’s unclear whether the first Mac Pro with Apple Silicon will satisfy demanding people. The device is expected to be available at an event this spring.

MacBook Air 15 inch

Although the MacBook Air is 15 years old , Apple has never changed the 11-inch and 13-inch sizes on this product line. However, if the rumors are correct, that could all change by the end of the year.

Multiple sources claim Apple is not only working on a larger 15-inch MacBook Air, but that it could launch at some point in 2023. That should give MacBook Air fans a dimension. second to choose from, the first since 2016 when the 11-inch version was dropped.

Speaking of specifics, rumors say the new MacBook Air will have a 15.5-inch display. Alternatively, it could be an enlarged version of the 13-inch MacBook Air. While an OLED display appears to be in development, it won’t be available on the MacBook Air until 2024 at the earliest.

iMac “Professional”

Since the iMac Pro was discontinued in 2021, there have been rumors that Apple is working on its successor. Now, it looks like Apple is almost ready to reveal this computer to the world , with a release date falling around the end of 2023.

It is not yet clear whether the device will be labeled as an iMac Pro or simply a larger iMac. If it’s labeled “Pro”, it will come in “professional” designs in silver or gray, while the latter will use the bright colors of the current 24-inch iMac.

In terms of configuration, this iMac will use an M3-series chip, possibly an M3 Pro or M3 Max. It also comes with a high-end display like the one found in Apple’s Pro Display XDR.

iMac 24 inch

Like the professional iMac, the 24-inch iMac will also be refreshed when the current version is released in spring 2021, which has taken about 2 years. Like the iMac Pro, the next iMac model is expected to feature the M3 generation chip, although it could be the M3 and not as high-end as the M3 Pro. It is also expected to continue with the same colorful design as the current models.

Details about the next iMac are few at the moment, which suggests that the improvements could be quite minor on the new version and perhaps limited to a chip upgrade. It is likely that the product will be announced by the end of 2023.

MacBook Pro 13 inch?

The current version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro is rated as bad when it comes to similar performance but fewer ports than the MacBook Air M2, while the resale price is higher. So many people have high expectations for a new 13-inch MacBook Pro, where they will appear at WWDC 2023 taking place in June 2023.

There are also question marks about the possibility of Apple removing the 13-inch MacBook Pro from its product portfolio to streamline its Mac products. However, this may cause the company to adjust the price of the 14-inch MacBook Pro to a more appropriate level.
