According to TechNewsSpace, although most Apple devices are still made in China, the company also has other assembly plants located around the world. One of these locations is located in Brazil, according to some sources spread online, this place is assembling iPhone 15 basic models. Specifically, this factory is Foxconn Brazil, located in Sao Paulo.

Although Apple has not yet officially confirmed the start of iPhone 15 assembly in Brazil, this can be found on the company’s online store in the South American country. When buying a phone, the ID code displayed is BR/A, showing that the device was assembled in Brazil. At the same time, many other products are marked BE/A and BZ/A, also indicating that they were imported into the country.

Interestingly, Apple only produces the standard iPhone 15 in Brazil, while more expensive versions such as the iPhone 15 Plus and both 15 Pro models are still imported from China. This may be due to the base model being the most popular product in the country, as well as the fact that local authorities have increased taxes on imported products.

Local production helps reduce the price of the base 128GB iPhone 15 model. At launch, the base iPhone 15 cost around $1,460 in Brazil, while the price has now dropped to $1,080 at some retailers in the country.

In addition, having an assembly factory in Brazil helps reduce Apple’s dependence on China and opens up the possibility of selling more iPhones
