Sam Bankman-Fried’s case now has 13 counts.The FTX saga never ends. American justice has filed a new complaint against Sam Bankman-Fried this Tuesday, March 28. The former CEO and founder of the FTX platform, arrested in the Bahamas in December 2022 , is accused of having bribed Chinese officials, including at least one official. According to court documents from the court for the Southern District of New York, “ circa 2021 ”, SBK would have offered 40 million dollars to access the bank account of Alameda Trading, one of its trading companies blocked on Chinese territory
American justice thus accuses the ex-CEO of having violated the anti-corruption device of the law on corrupt practices abroad, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act or FCPA. This new indictment brings to 13 the number of charges present in Sam Bankman-Fried’s file. As a reminder, the American entrepreneur is behind the fall of the FTX cryptocurrency platform. The latter is notably accused of having used the funds of platform customers to carry out risky transactions without their knowledge.
