Huawei has just introduced the Nova 12 smartphone series, including the Nova 12, 12 Pro, and 12 Ultra models. All products use Kirin chips from HiSilicon and are manufactured by SMIC.
According to Technewsspaces, Huawei Nova 12 is equipped with a 6.7-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2,412 x 1,084 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and supports backlight control (PWM) at a frequency of 1,440 Hz. Meanwhile, the Nova 12 Pro and 12 Ultra have a 6.76-inch OLED display with rounded edges, 2,776 x 1,224-pixel resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, 300 Hz touch sampling rate, and PWM at a frequency of 2,160 Hz. The panels are protected from scratches by second-generation Kunlun glass developed by Huawei itself.
Nova 12 has a dual main camera with a 50 MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture and RYYB color filter, combining an 8 MP sensor with a wide-angle lens for macro photography (f/2.4). Users can take selfies with the 60 MP front camera with wide-angle f/2.4 aperture.
The Nova 12 Pro and 12 Ultra also have dual rear cameras. The main module is based on a 50 MP sensor and has a variable aperture of f/1.4 – f/4.0 and an RYYB color filter. Combined with that, there is also an f/2.2 wide-angle camera with an 8 MP sensor and support for macro photography. On the front is a 60 MP wide-angle camera (f/2.4) that supports autofocus and an 8 MP sensor for close-up portraits (f/2.2) that supports 2x optical zoom and 5x digital zoom. In addition, both models are equipped with a new-generation facial recognition system.
All Nova 12 members come with a Kirin chip with a built-in 5G modem. Huawei did not say which chip will be used in them, but according to sources, the Nova 12 Pro is equipped with a Kirin 8000 5G chip, and the Nova 12 Ultra is equipped with a Kirin 9000SL chip. The Nova 12 Ultra model is also said to support 2-way text messaging technology via satellite. All three models have a 4,600 mAh battery that supports 100W fast charging and runs on HarmonyOS 4.0 platform.
Finally, the price of the Nova 12 starts at 420 USD for the 8/256 GB version, while the Nova 12 Pro starts from 560 USD for the 12/256 GB version and the Nova 12 Ultra costs 658 USD for the 12/512 GB version.
