Samsung is said to have received approval to mass-produce OLED screens for the upcoming iPhone 15 series, meaning the Korean company can produce screens for all iPhone 15 models.

According to BGR, as for LG, the company is said to have received partial approval to produce panels for the iPhone 15 Pro models, while BOE will not receive the first batch of regular models due to difficulties. Difficulty with Dynamic Island removal.

The report added that, due to production disruptions by competitors, Samsung will receive the majority of OLED shipments this year. This is especially beneficial for Samsung as the Pro models usually sell quite well in the first few months, meaning Samsung can make more profit than other manufacturers.

While Samsung secured the supply of OLED panels for the iPhone 15, the camera module output is said to be lower than expected because LG is having difficulty in providing the periscope lens on the Pro Max models. In addition, many other manufacturers in Apple’s supply chain are also facing difficulties and only achieved their best results in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Apple will prioritize production of the iPhone 15 Pro, followed by the Pro Max and regular models. Apple is expected to bring a number of improvements to this year’s iPhone 15 models. As for the Pro model, they have ultra-thin bezels, while the regular version will have a Dynamic Island cutout. The camera system is also improved, in which the Pro Max version has a periscope lens

The iPhone 15 Pro series will be equipped with the A17 Bionic chip, while the regular version will have the same A16 Bionic chip as on the iPhone 14 Pro models.
