Epic Games buys more studios to develop Fortnite

With the latest acquisition, Epic Games looks forward to adding more content to Fortnite.

According to Neowin, Epic Games continues to expand its reach in the game industry. Accordingly, the company that created the popular free-to-play game Fortnite has just announced the acquisition of Brazilian developer AQUIRIS.

According to the press release on the deal, Epic previously invested in AQUIRIS around early 2022. Now, the studio has been fully acquired by Epic and renamed Epic Games Brazil. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed by either

Prior to its merger with Epic Games, AQUIRIS was known as the Wonderbox mobile game development studio for iOS device owners, along with other titles like Horizon Chase and Looney Tunes World of Mayhem. Epic Games says those games will still be supported in the future. Epic Games Brazil will take on the job of supporting new content creation for Fortnite.

Epic Games has acquired several game development companies over the past few years. Some of them have been companies that make game development tools like RAD Game Tools and SuperAwesome. The company has also purchased game development studios such as Mediatonic, which created Fall Guys, and Psyonix, the studio behind Rocket League
