Google has just announced a series of new updates to Search, from travel planning to shopping for clothes, even detecting abnormalities in the user’s skin.
According to Engadget, simply upload a photo to Lens and it will show the user reference images. If there are signs of skin abnormalities, Google will recommend that users consult a doctor
Google is also enhancing its search options to make it easier for people to find what they want when shopping online. Users can now search by filters such as style, color, and pattern across retailers.
To do this, Google has released a new virtual trial tool that shows how the same shirt will look on a variety of patterns. The program uses a general artificial intelligence (AI) technique to display the fit and style of the fabric. Currently, the technology is only available for purchase at select retailers such as H&M, Everlane, Anthropologie, and Loft.
Google is also releasing quite a few new travel-focused features. The company is expanding Immersive View, a tool that enables 3D exploration of a city (including Florence, Venice, Dublin, and Amsterdam), along with allowing users to get up close and personal with the 500 other landmarks worldwide. Immersive View mode already exists across cities like Tokyo and New York, as well as for hundreds of attractions.
Besides, when planning a long trip, users can also access AI-generated summaries of different places from articles, reviews, and photos
