A report from the Brazilian site iPhone Blog says that the iPhone Pro version of 2023, temporarily called iPhone 15 Pro, may omit the traditional SIM card slot.

According to PhoneArena , although the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro allow users to use two eSIMs at the same time, they still have a nanoSIM card slot. However, things may start to change in 2023 when the report states that the iPhone 15 Pro will only be compatible with eSIM. Apple is said to be working with a British company to make this happen.

The new information is interesting because many rumors suggest that Apple is intending to launch an iPhone without any ports, and an eSIM-only iPhone would be an important step in that direction.

If the report is accurate, Apple could still sell iPhone 15 Pro versions with physical SIM slots in markets where eSIM is not yet developed.

A recent report said that Apple is also working on wireless charging devices and how the iPhone can recover lost data when there is no port.

The iPhone 15 will likely be powered by a 3nm chip, and nearly 80% of the models are rumored to have an Apple-made 5G modem. The 2023 iPhones may also have Touch ID under the display. The 2022 lineup is expected to feature pinhole displays, new camera hardware, and 4nm chips.
