Unity has just launched two platforms, Unity Sentis, and Unity Muse, to help creators be more productive and create more immersive RT3D experiences in games.

Accordingly, Unity Sentis is a cross-platform runtime inference engine that allows AI models to be implemented in any project on Unity, and Unity Muse is a tool used to accelerate RT3D content creation.

Both Unity Muse and Unity Sentis leverage AI to improve gameplay interactivity and RT3D experiences while accelerating the creative process. Previously, Unity also launched a dedicated AI exchange on the Unity Asset Store with Certified Solutions that accelerate game development with AI

Unity Sentis CEO John Riccitiello said: “We expect AI to revolutionize gaming, just like the powerful impacts we’ve seen from 3D, mobile, and the internet. We believe Unity’s new AI platforms will be a powerful tool for creators and artists alike. We expect Unity Muse to increase productivity by 10 times with unprecedented intelligence, and empowering creativity with Unity Sentis.”

Harnessing the power of Unity’s Runtime, Unity Sentis delivers on-device AI model inference, allowing creators to deploy artificial neural networks on any Unity-supported platform. As a result, creators can visualize and deliver the most immersive, interactive experiences without worrying about latency or high costs in the cloud. Specifically, Unity’s Sentis Runtime expands the potential of interactive gameplay and digital twins, far beyond existing capabilities, from “smart” NPCs to simulated factories.

Unity Muse includes AI solutions that help creators accelerate the construction of RT3D content for games, apps, and digital copies. Developers can access the tools on this platform right in the Unity Editor and on the web, allowing for faster asset creation and animation without disruption to the workflow.

One of the first tools that is now out is Unity Muse Chat. Simply enter a request into the Muse Chat prompt, which will help you speed up troubleshooting and access information at every step of the Unity workflow. Over the next few weeks, Unity Muse will add features to make it easier to create assets and animate through text descriptions or drawings.

Unity Sentis and Unity Muse are currently in closed beta. Developers can request access to these two tools through their own website https://create.unity.com/ai-beta. It is expected that these solutions will be launched globally by the end of this year
