After some reports said the A17 Pro chip could be the reason why the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are overheating, an analyst has ruled out this possibility.

According to Android Authority, analyst Ming-chi Kuo said that the problem of iPhone 15 Pro overheating most likely has nothing to do with the A17 Pro chip. Instead, it may involve structural design in the thermal system to achieve lighter weight. To prove his claim, Mr. Kuo gave examples such as the use of titanium frames and reduced heat dissipation area. Both of these factors will reduce the phone’s cooling performance.

According to Mr. Kuo, Apple is expected to resolve this issue through software updates. However, software updates can only provide a small amount of heat relief, as real improvements would require reducing A17 Pro chip performance – something Apple likely doesn’t want.

iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are not always too hot to hold. The problem is that if you use them for intensive tasks like gaming or video recording, high heat levels are unavoidable. When this happens, the user’s usage experience will be affected.

Going back to reports related to the iPhone 15 Pro overheating issue. Tests performed by famous technology sites have proven that this problem really occurs. For example, with Android Authority, website performed many different tasks on the iPhone 15 Pro and found that the temperature in some places on the device could reach temperatures of up to 47.4°C.
