After coming to Sony’s PS5, Apple’s music application came to Xbox.

According to Engadget, Microsoft is showing the company’s special interest in Xbox this week. On Tuesday, Xbox Cloud Gaming announced support for the Meta Quest 2 virtual reality headset and some new Chromebooks. Microsoft has now tied up with Apple to bring the Apple Music app to Xbox consoles officially.

As discovered by Eurogamer, users can now install the music app right on Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S or install it remotely via the Microsoft Store.

Similar to other music apps on Xbox, like Spotify and Pandora, players can listen to Apple Music in the background while playing games. With Apple Music, players can watch music videos, track real-time synced lyrics, and create playlists.

Although Apple Music was available on PlayStation 5 last year and Apple TV has been on Xbox since Series X/S launched in 2020, Xbox users have had to wait almost 2 years in the life of the Xbox Series. X/S to use Apple Music.

The timing of Apple Music coming to Xbox is also interesting, right before Microsoft’s big Surface event.
