Apple released iOS 17.2.1 to the public right before the year-end holidays and this is likely the final patch for iOS 17 released in 2023.

According to AppleInsider, rolled out as the first incremental update since the release of iOS 17.2 on December 11, iOS 17.2.1 brings some small changes to the operating system before the year-end holidays roll around.

Such incremental updates include bug fixes and performance improvements, which may sometimes provide compatibility support with new hardware. Apple tends not to provide details about incremental updates in these cases, except for fixes that are important enough to be highlighted.

The build number for iOS 17.2.1 is 21C66, replacing iOS 17.2’s build number 21C62. For the previous iOS 17.2 update, Apple brought changes like the Diary app, spatial video recording, and changes to both the Apple TV and the Messages app, among other elements.

Users can manually update their devices to iOS 17.2.1 by opening the Settings app, selecting General, and then clicking Software Update. If an update is available for your device, tap it and follow the onscreen instructions to install it.
